Biography
Emily Fischer is a Chicago-based artist and educator devoted to creating meaningful musical experiences on and off the stage. She began playing violin at the age of three through the Suzuki Method—a philosophy that not only shaped her technique, but also instilled a deep belief in music as a language of connection, beauty, and joy.
Emily earned her master’s degree in Violin Performance from the University of Louisville, where she served as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and received Suzuki certifications in books 1–10. Equally at home in classical, pop, rock, and jazz settings, her performances are marked by curiosity, sensitivity, and expressive freedom.
She performs regularly with the Lincolnwood Chamber Orchestra and appears as an actress/violinist with Music Theater Works. This season, Emily will take center stage as “The Fiddler” in Fiddler on the Roof at the George Van Dusen Theatre, running August 7–17.
As a dedicated educator, Emily teaches private lessons and group classes at New Music School, where she continues to inspire the next generation of young artists with the same wonder and love for music that has guided her own journey.
